How to use your eSIM

Three steps, under three minutes.

Step 1 · Check that your phone supports eSIM

•Dial *#06# on your phone. If an EID number appears, your phone supports eSIM.
•Your phone must be carrier-unlocked (not tied to a network contract).
•iPhone XS and newer · Samsung S20 and newer · Google Pixel 3 and newer · selected Huawei P40 and newer

Step 3 · When you arrive in Laos

•Turn on Mobile Data for the ADS Laos line
•Turn on Data Roaming for the ADS Laos line — essential, the eSIM will not work without it
•Wait 1–2 minutes; your phone connects to Unitel automatically
•Turn off mobile data on your home SIM to avoid roaming charges

Step 2 · Install the eSIM before you fly

1Open Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service
2Tap Add eSIM → Use QR Code
3Scan the QR code from the email we sent you
4Label the plan, for example "ADS Laos"
5Keep your existing SIM as Primary so you still receive calls and SMS
6Under Cellular Data, select ADS Laos

⚠️ Install while connected to Wi-Fi. The QR code can only be used once — do not delete the eSIM after installing.

Frequently asked questions

When does the validity period start?▾

It starts when your phone first connects to the Unitel network in Laos — not when you buy. You can safely purchase in advance.

Installed but no signal — what should I do?▾

Check that Data Roaming is on for the ADS Laos line, then restart your phone. If it still fails, open Network Selection and choose Unitel / LAO 3 manually.

The QR code will not scan.▾

Choose "Enter details manually" and paste the activation code included in your email.

Can I still use my own number?▾

Yes. Your existing SIM keeps working for calls and SMS. Our eSIM provides data only.

I cannot find the email.▾

Check your spam or junk folder, or contact ADS with your order number and we will resend it immediately.
